Finch was born in La Mirada Calif. and started playing softball when she was 5 years old. Doug, her father, was the first coach of Jennie's pitching. He developed the Finch Windmill an arm conditioning tool which Jennie first used at the age of 10. As a high schooler she was able to throw six perfect matches and 13 no-hitters. Her next stop was the University of Arizona where she was named an All-American three times and a first baseman. It is the Honda Award, given to the nation's top softball players in 2001 after the Wildcats were awarded the title of champions in national competition and, in 2002, was won by her. The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Teams (WWAST) mission is to raise awareness through the sport of exhibitions and games with celebrities of the sacrifices, perseverance and dedication of our military and highlight the ability of these athletes to overcome any obstacle.
